Do I need life insurance? I am young & healthy!
The reality is that, yes-- you will eventually have a need for your life insurance policy! Life insurance is a sure thing! It will pay your beneficiary the amount specified at the time of a claim-- which there certainly will be at one point or another! Everyone eventually needs life insurance, some people just wait too long to get it and cannot afford it when they are ready due to their age or health causing them to be uninsurable!
What is the process to get a quote?
Download the free Goose app on your smartphone, available on the Apple App Store & Google Play Store. Simply complete your profile by entering a few key pieces of info about yourself, and select 'Life Insurance' to get started. Answer the questions in the app, simple yes or no questions related to lifestyle & medical risks along with basic info such as height and weight. The process can be completed in about 5 minutes in the app! If you like what you see, you can continue to purchase without ever needing to speak to an agent! It is a truly simplified process, with no medical exams or interviews from underwriting.
I bought the policy in the Goose app, will I still have to get blood tests to finalize the policy?
Absolutely not! There are a series of questions regarding your health status and history that you answered in the application. That information was used to see if you're eligible. It really is that Easy! No blood tests or medicals will ever be required. Your policy was made effective when you completed the application through the Goose mobile app and will remain in force as long as you continue to pay the policy premiums! Even if you relocate abroad or develop a medical condition that would normally disqualify you, as long as you pay your premium each month this policy is guaranteed to age 95 with set premiums all the way through to the end of the term period you choose!
Do I have to call to speak with a licensed agent, or can it all be done in the app?
You can complete the entire process in the app (it's usually faster and easier this way). Once you complete your purchase in the app, your policy documents are emailed to you immediately with your confirmation email! Don't forget, we like to do our part for the environment so your policy is always paperless with the Goose! Feel free to print off a copy of your policy from this PDF copy in the email if you'd like a paper copy on hand! That is definitely not necessary, though, as your policies in force with us will also be visible in the 'My Policies' section of the Goose mobile app.
Can I pay for the entire year at once? I don't like recurring billing!
I totally get it... and feel the same way! Unfortunately, we can't accept lump-sum payments at this time. Monthly recurring payments with your credit or debit card are required in order to purchase this policy.
What happens to the policy benefit when a death claim is made?
When a death claim is made, the beneficiary receives the proceeds of the policy. The policyholder designates beneficiaries at the time of application (or at a later date by simply requesting that we make the change). Upon the death of the insured, the policy funds are then distributed to the selected beneficiary (or beneficiaries) as indicated in the application or change request.
How is this different from permanent insurance (Whole Life or Universal)?
There are several significant differences between term and permanent life insurance policies. The biggest difference is that term insurance expires at the end of the term you select, whereas permanent insurance remains in force as long as you pay the premiums. Another difference is that term insurance is more affordable than permanent insurance and does not have any investment component. Term policies do not earn cash value or dividends. You cannot borrow against term policies.
Why does Goose care about my Family Health history? Does family history disqualify me?
Unfortunately for some of us, our family history does play a role in underwriting life insurance policies. With Goose, our family history question asks about close relatives (parents, siblings) medical conditions, specifically whether or not they were diagnosed with certain illnesses before age 60. This information is statistically relevant to properly rate life insurance premiums, so we do have to ask that you answer that one honestly! By answering yes to this question, you are not automatically declined! It is just a piece of the overall puzzle that underwriting will review.
What if I get routine tests done? Can I answer “no” to the questions?
Routine tests such as a mammogram, PSA, and blood tests that come back negative (meaning you are free and clear) mean you can answer “no” to the question in the Goose Easy Term Insurance questionnaire asking about it because it specifies to only answer yes if results came back positive or with abnormal findings.
If you are awaiting results, please do not apply for this life insurance - you can try again after the results come back with negative results.
Unfortunately, none of us can predict our future, but we can protect our families from financial loss by purchasing adequate levels of life insurance. The younger you are, the cheaper life insurance is - so don’t delay! Young, healthy individuals should apply, if you are later diagnosed with an illness that renders you uninsurable, it won't affect this existing policy! You will always have this plan as long as you pay your policy premiums, regardless of age or insurability!
